| Parking Your Motorcycle I have a topic/issue thats been bugging me for a bit even though i do it anyway...
Is it actually legal to park right by the door of a store or location instead of parking in the lot with all of the other cars...?
I always pull my bike up front especially if i go to a bar or something...i can only imagine how pissed someone will get if the parking lot is full then only to find a little 2 wheeled bike taking up a whole space....I mean i hear stories about drunk idiots kicking your bike over or pissing on it, etc.
What are your methods on parking your bike...the do's and dont's?
Aslo any advice on how to not get messed with?

| when parkin' in a large lot I park away from other vehicles, but in plain site of the store, office... That's if possible. When parkin' @ night I park under a light post if possible. When parkin' @ a bar (rare) I park away from other cars. I will walk further if I need to. I also check on the bike periodically. Most importantly I do NOT drink when ridin', ever. And believe me you're not talkin' to Joe Q. Citizen here. It's suicide to drink and ride a bike. |

| years agao I had a bike knocked over in a parking lot! Since then I never park my bike where I cant see it! For the most part if I am going to the store to get something small; even small enough to carry on a bike, I dont! I drive the truck. It pretty much comes down to the weekend rides where we will stop at the local bike stop and its nothing but bikes and every one has there eyes on bikes. |

I take my bike out to ride my bike (most of the time). When I run errands...I take the truck. It just isn't pratical to take a sportbike to do shit like that, not for the most part anyway. And Im always scared to park it. |

| well your certainly in a for an experience! I got sick and tired of my hari being messed up everywhere I went. that was the first thing. The second was when I had the kind of close calls where I should have died but someone upstairs pulled me out of and kept me alive. Because of the eceryday riding increasing your chances of going down. I got tired of that and bought a truck. Years later I got creamed on a leisurly ride. Go figure... ops: Quote: |

| That is why I conceal carry my xd45, I would shoot them in the nuts if they kicked my bike over. |
