I was curious to know about the speed of this animal? I was going to buy one but ended up getting the 650, I am overall pretty happy with it.

How do you like the 500?

I don't own one, but I've ridden them several times... My friend actually bought his girlfriend a 500 recently, and he just traded in his CBR for a Z1000. I tell you, I have that effect on people. I can be very convincing to come over to the Kawasaki side.

The 500 feels pretty torquey, and it's pretty upright compared to mine.. but I really like it. It's a lot like the 250, but a bit bigger and a bit faster. Fun!

Right now for my size and weight (and yes female too) I am stuck between a 250 or a 500. I have been told by many local places that I could ride up to a 500 but by a couple that know me personal and know I am a lead foot when driving want me on something smaller. I would love to hear anyone that is a light weight like me riding a 500 too!

Starter, I got the opposite problem. I need a big bike. I'm six foot five and I'm not comfortable on the smaller bikes. I wanted something super miserly on fuel but I don't think anyone makes a 250 I could realistically ride. I rode one once and all was going through my head was seeing my six three brother-in-law when he rode a moped to work. Lmao.

finally got a motor, and have got it started, but it won't stay running yet. probably gonna have to clean the carbs. good start for now. I will be glad to ride something besides the Honda for a change
