I'm not saying that leathers are unacceptable, just a little impractical sometimes. I wear leathers when I ride, just not all the time. I'm also not saying that regular jeans are acceptable to ride in. The point I'm making is there are other alternatives to leathers or textile. I wear my Draggin Jeans when I go to out to dinner with friends, take nice casual ride with a few girls who like to ride with me. Wearing leathers all day or evening can get pretty hot and sweaty.
Supposedly Draggin Jeans tested their jeans by dragging a guy on his ass behind a truck and the kevlar in the butt held up.
